Cirrus is pleased to present newly published monoprints by noted Los Angeles artists Todd Hebert, Dennis Hollingsworth, and Jason Meadows.
The works in this show use a variety of printing and application techniques that utilize hand-made plates made from cardboard and foam core, relief type printing from found objects (i.e. plastic 6-pack can holders), silkscreens, Victorian book leaf marbling, stencils, hand painting, and pochoire, all celebrating a renewed interest by young artists in the printed media and a hands-on approach to art-making.
An MFA graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Todd Hebert is a native North Dakota who has had solo exhibition at Mark Moore Gallery, University of Nevada, Space Gallery (UK), Bellwether Gallery, and Hudson D. Walker Gallery.
Madrid native Dennis Hollingsworth received his MFA from the Claremont Graduate School. In addition to Cirrus, he has shown at Buchmann Galerie (Cologne), Blum & Poe, Tomio Koyama (Tokyo), Elga Wimmer, Hammer Museum, Manny Silverman Gallery, and Chac Mool (New York). His latest edition of monoprints for Cirrus is titled, Obeja Negra, or “Black Sheep”.
Jason Meadows started exhibiting his works while still attending the MFA program at UCLA. His work is shown at Marc Foxx, Tanya Bonakdar (New York), Studio Guenzani (Milan), and Corvi-Mora (London) and is also included in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, MOCA Los Angeles, Judith R. Rothchild Foundation, and the Tate Modern. His latest work for Cirrus is his set of untitled monoprints.
