Cirrus is pleased to exhibit two recent editions of monoprints by Mark Bradford. Mark approaches printmaking as he does his paintings, creating layers from source material which relates to his local environment. Employed are both lithography and silkscreen to create these one of a kind pieces. Mark is known for paintings which blend the formal aspects of art making with images and references to urban pop culture found in hand made street signs, posters, and billboards, uniting various cultures and ethnicities. Mark lives and works in Los Angeles, and recieved his MFA at Cal Arts. His installation "Very Powerful Lords" was recently shown at the Whitney Altria. He was represented in "Snapshot" at the UCLA Hammer Museum, and in "Freestyle" at the Studio Museum of Harlem.
