| In his second solo show with Cirrus titled "Genesis", Justin Moore utilizes his experience with consumer 3D software, suggesting the idea for a technological creationism through the manipulation of continually updated, idealized 3D modeling templates which are used for everything from movies, pornography, science fiction, to the depiction of historical events. The resulting simulacrum offers both an idealized possibility for a synthetic evolution as well as a consistently eerie prophecy as machine and nature are continually fused. The interplay between advanced and traditional mediums such as oil painting, works on paper, animation, and DVD projections on newsprint, reinforce these ideas as machine and the human touch are united. |
